Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervise NR-Fleet Services staff, assigns work, oversees activities, priorities, and monitors performance to ensure non-Revenue vehicles are readily available for Bus, Rail, Police and Admin operations.
- Oversees a 72 Million dollar capital fleet replacement plan on 921vehicles working closely with the DGM of Bus & Rail Vehicle Maintenance along with the Manager of Police Services throughout the vehicle selection process. Provides insight review and approval of vehicle specifications by the Equipment Design Engineering group to ensure vehicles meet the end user needs according to specifications.
- Supports the Director of Contracts in Purchasing to move vehicle purchases from specifications through the pre-bid and bid process by assisting in developing bid documents posted on Bid Express.
- Assumes responsibility for the non-Revenue vehicle production schedule, including meeting with vendor and NJ TRANSIT’s Internal Design Group to inspect vehicle at different stages of production to ensure the vehicle meets specification. Prepares and reviews internal documentation to obtain asset tags, coordinating with the Non-Rev Shop to prepare the vehicle going out of service for auction.
- Administers 4 Million dollar GPS, EZPASS Fuel Card, Registrations & Vehicle Rental Contracts \ Programs in accordance with Corporate Policy 2.02, Assignment and use of Non-Rev. Vehicles. Reviews contracts, internal requests and conducts audits for accountability to safeguard against misuse. Maintains internal controls by properly documenting requests for auditing purposes in compliance with corporate policy. Reviews invoices, initializes PO to support the programs day to day operations.
- Reviews and approves Work Authorization Forms sent by the Non-Revenue Shop for repair work in excess of $5,000 for light duty vehicles and $7,500 for heavy duty vehicles. Responsibilities include evaluating the value of the vehicle verses the repair and approving the work to be done.
- Provides input and control of CP&P MAP-21 Program for Non-Revenue Vehicles by setting criteria accepted by USDOT to ensure compliance with reaching and maintaining the Non-Rev Fleet into a state of good repair.
- Constantly monitors USDOT & DOT motor vehicle guidelines \ regulations, to ensure the non-Revenue is in compliance and up to date with vehicle weights, registrations, inspections and permits to avoid fines.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or related area and three (3) years of experience in project management, fleet management, and/or planning required, supervisory experience desired. One year of experience can be substituted for each year of education.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Supervisory experience desired. Demonstrates capability in the use of analyzing data is desired. Proficiency in the use of MS Office. Excellent verbal and written communication skills desired. Tech-Savviness. Knowledge of vehicle parts and equipment.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Class D Driver’s license in good standing
